I have assumed that when a seller posts a picture of the back of their machine, and not the front, it is obvious that they know nothing about sewing machines. Anyone else think the same thing?

Singer 201-2 with a potted motor and a cabinet leaf that needs hinge work.

I see this back view type photo a lot. I figure they are either ignorant of sewing machines or trying to hide something.

I'm going to keep an eye on this one. It doesn't have any bidders yet probably because it's a pick up only. Tucson isn't that bad of a drive for me. I got my other 201 in Tucson.

No bidders yet. $5.00 take it right now. Just don't know what I'm going to do with another 201. But the price is right . . . even for parts.

You could always clean it up, lube it, tune it and fix up the cabinet. Then decide which one sews the best and sell the other one at a profit.

A 201 for $5 would be worth a shot. Rain has a real nice website/blog all about those potted motors. You can always take the motor off and rig it for a treadle if all else fails.

i wonder why goodwill is even posting it. i would think that it would sell in the store. it seems that the sewing machine itself isn't the important part - the cabinet is. there is absolutely no information about the machine, not even a picture. i wouldn't waste my time on it.

At my local Good Will stores, I never see any sewing machines any more. I think they sell them all through the website.
