Dumb ?????

Can somebody who's had a Singer 9W-7 apart, well the spool pin, tell me if it's a tap in or a screw in?

Mine is bent, crooked and rusty and I'm thinking of putting a new one on, but I don't wanna break anything trying.

either way, if you loosen it by turning only a bit ccw, it should tell you.
