I dropped by the Estate sale today at 2 PM and the Singer was still there!!!! I asked the price and it took almost 45 minutes for someone to tell me it was already sold.
Ms. Kay, the house was enormous, and I don't know when it was built, but everything in there was original and old as the dickens. There was a bag of thread from "Grants", which was a department store chain that went out of business about 40 years ago. It is my understanding that the owner had a sister who lived with her that made draperies, but I think that machine, which was in pristine condition, with drawers full of attachments, had not been used for many years. There were three Highboys in the room, all with beautiful inlaid wood designs, and shelving, which is probably where the fabric was if there was any. They were empty when I got there with sold signs on them.

I have never seen a cabinet in such pristine condition. The drawers opened smoothly, interior wood was very clean, and the shellac finish was in perfect condition. I was so sure I was going to buy it and was heartbroken when they told me it had sold. They didn't know the price it sold for but told me it had sold the day before within minutes of the sale opening.
