Just got my FW that I purchased on e-bay and would like to know a little about it. It came from someone in Canada and it is a beauty! Runs great. Original case. Lots of extra feet. Threads and bobbins. Needles. Original instruction book. Ripper. Tweezers. Much more.

It is a Singer 221-1
Number on bottom is EF154671
SS - Au61-11-7 on top plate

Any help in identifying history would be great. I know this is the right place to ask for "answers".

Thanks

According to the Singer Identification Site. Your machine was produced on May 23, 1949. It is aa 221-K. One of 10,000 made. Factory Name: Kilbowie
Clydebank Scotland

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info and the web site. Now I can tell my DH what is so special about this machine. He is very supportive of my quilting interest but didn't understand why I needed another sewing machine. He raises registered angus and I support him in his interest. I asked him why he needs another cow. He gave me a puzzled look and had no answer. Guess we are even! Have to admit - he never complains about what buy. I am very lucky!
