I have just inherited this machine from my MIL. I have dated it as a 1936 model. It was in a factory in Savannah and had been converted to electric before my MIL bought it when the WPA dissolved and closed the sewing room. The Serial Number is AE199.247.

No...not a featherweight...it's a 201 :)

No, not a featherweight. They are much smaller. One thing to always look for in a featherweight is the table to the left of the needle folds up over the end pf the machine.
You still have a treasure. Enjoy it.

If it's a 201, that's a wonderful machine to have! They are workhorses and last forever.

Charlee, look at the harp space on that beauty! If the feed dogs were covered, could it be used to FMQ?

Yep! Actually, the feed dogs drop on the 201 models...or they do on mine anyway...you have to lift the machine and flip a lever on the bottom to drop them...it's a great FMQ machine! :)
