New to me Kenmore model (i have no idea) and various other bits.
*waves*
Hello!
I recently found myself purchasing a Kenmore. I think this makes it my 20th machine...*thinks* I have to double count. The real reason I purchased this particular model was because I had a suspicion that one of the cam sets I had, would fit it. So I dragged it home.

I'm liking the speckled webby background of the face plate.
The cam set i was talking about is this:

I bought it like last year but didn't find the machine it went to so I essentially stashed it along with a couple other orphaned sets. I figured I'd stumble on to the machine it belongs to eventually. lol I did and it does fit and works... I just have to figure out what in the world Kenmore was thinking. The S, M, L knob... *scratches head* No clue what that does. Stitch length and adjustments... so totally clueless... forget about the cam idea.... I know they fit and turn smoothly but I must be doing something wrong with the knobs cause the patterns are a bit wonky. LOL Also how does one open her up to clean and fuss with her? The box she's sitting is not her original box. It's actually hand made. That being said does she actually need a desk to sit in... do i have to look for one? If anyone could point me in the direction of a manual and model number that would be awesome.
Now that being said, I have 2 additional cam sets that needs machines.

along with a couple accessories:
Monogram

and button hole attachment

So essentially i'm still on the hunt for at least 2 more machines to fit these attachments. LOL

This is great! I loved my Kenmore and I really think it's still somewhere in the basement, although we haven't been able to find it. (The hot water hose to the washer burst a few years ago when we were out of town and some things went when they did the cleanup - still not organized.) You have a wonderful assortment of cams. I have the same buttonholer, but got it after I lost the machine and can't figure out how it should work.
I'm guessing that the S M L dial is for the stitch length (since it says Length Modifier), maybe for Short, Medium and Long.
Etsy has some manuals.
Hope you have lots of fun with all the accessories!

Your monogrammer fits the Open Arm version of this model.
the shape of the Chainstitch plate is also indicative of the machine it fits - looks like you have the square one.
The SML is for the stitch modifier - on my machine it's called the "varigater" but it does the same thing. It is a small adjustment for the stretch stitch cams (they go backward and forward along with side to side) to adjust the backward/forward part, so S will have for a smaller backward/forward moving, and L will have a larger forward/backward movement. So you adjust that along with the length and width to get the pattern looking like you want.

gotta... love those older kenmores I will never ever give mine up early 70's my one and only sewing machine until 2006 when I bought a sewing embroidery machine and up until I joined this board and internet I didn't realize that all the extras attachments you can get for them mine takes cams that look like the beige and orange cams and again didn't know that I could get different sewing stitch designs I thought what came in the box was all it did
