I recently bought a 127 treadle in a five drawer cabinet. The whole unit is in quite decent shape but the drawers are sticky and hard to pull out. Is there anything that I can use on the drawer frames to make this go a little easier? Suggestions please.

try a silicone spray but put newpaper on the floor or you will be slipping and sliding too!!

You could rub wax (a candle) on the wood where it's rubbing. You might have to sand the sticky/tight areas down a bit.

We always used parrafin. It isn't messy or oily. Works.

Yup, a candle, or soap. Or the square of paraffin you can still sometimes find in the canning section at the hardware store.

Thanks for your suggestions. I'll try the candle wax first as I have lots of that in the house.

I was going to tell you to use a candle, but I see someone else was thinking along the same lines. I just inherited an antique dresser and I had to do that to the drawers. Works like a charm.

They sell a silicone tape that we used on dresser drawers. Easy to install and works great. Ask about it at your hardware store if you are interested.

The parafin suggestion was good. IT is clean. This summer has been hot and humid. Some of the wood swells if not sealed. Some of this will resolve itself during the fall/winger. It probably wouldn't take very much sanding and then use the parafin. I wouldn't recommend anything oily to mar the wood. SewClassic.com has shuttles and bobbins for this machine too. Follow Joe's directions and she will purrrrrrr.
