If you want to it's possible to refinish the machine, these decals are available a few places. It's a bit expensive, and involves a few hours work. Compared to other things we do and buy it's not that bad though. There's the sticky thread on this forum on how to improve the finish; results are impressive considering the state of some of the machines. If the machine is to be used again the sewing bed needs have a nice, even, clean surface; it needs to be put in a treadle table or have motor and light fitted.
