    On our FW the serial number is under the bottom of the left end (bobbin end) of the machine on a machined flat surface.

    You can find the production date here: { http://thefeatherweight221factory.com/page5.php }
    Ours is AH439804, made in 1948.

    With that serial number, your new Featherweight was born around December 5, 1939. Congratulations!!! I have Five of the little darlings and love each one of them!

    I was sewing a whacky bag with ours day before yesterday and it felt like I was sewing with a toy. They are sooooo tiny compared to a full sized machine. I really wish some of my full sized machines sewed as good as our little FW does though.
