Default German Singer 201 -treadle and electric both!

I picked up an amazing machine that can be set up for both treadle or electric use. However I haven't found much information about it. It is pre-WWII and the records have been lost. The small amount I have found says you move the pitman from the treadle wheel to the motor (in the cabinet below the machine) to change it to electric operation. Does anyone else have one of these? I have always wanted a 201, and I would like to operate it both treadle or electric, depending on the task. I am a bit worried about the wiring on anything this old, but my husband says it looks good (he's an electrical engineer by training).

Id love to hear from someone else with this machine.
