Congratulations!!! Your baby was allotted on July 10 1947 with only 35,000 of them for that run. Since its a Model 15 the bobbin case and needle plate should be found at any sewing repair place or the Singer dealer. You might even find them at you local Hancocks or JoAnns.

That's good because I've been looking at Ultimate Sew and Vac and they want 13.95 for the bobbin case, 12.95 for the needle plate and a couple of dollars for screws (it looks like you get one screw for that price) or is that about the right price?

For the price of the bobbin case you can get it all for that.

Thanks! I bookmarked it so when I discover ALL the parts I need, I can get them all at once so only have to pay one shipping charge. I'm getting a list started and am awaiting the tutorials. I've never tore apart a sewing machine before.

Hope this works.
(edit) it didn't. What I was trying to do is show the large screws that I can't get loosened and wanted to know if it is absolutely necessary that the potted motor be removed. I've sprayed and sprayed it and it still won't loosen. I'm afraid of totally stripping the screw.
GOT IT! See what screws I mean?
