Default Got an A.G. Mason Treadle

I just won this A. G. Mason treadle machine on shopgoodwill.com. It's in the mail, so haven't seen it in person yet. But looks promising!!

We were watching that one too. When you get it, tell me what that horse shoe shaped piece with the twist screw on it is.

Nice machine, glad someone here got it.

Are you talking about that large piece in the top left corner of the picture? Yeah, that's an odd looking thing, isn't it? Looks like some sort of clamp. I've gotten some weird stuff in boxes of attachments....nothing as weird as that one gal who had electrical parts and thought they were attachments!

That is one of the prettiest machines I've ever seen. I have no idea about her abilities as a "machine", but I'd be happy to have her to look at her.

Well done!

Janice, Congrats! Very pretty decals!! Cathy or Pat will be able to tell you more on the machine and what type of needle to use.

I was looking on the ISMACS needle list, and it looks like most of the Mason machines used the 20x1, or various sizes of Boye needles. I couldn't find this particular badge name, New Glenwood, but did find a Glenwood by Mason that takes the 20x1 needle. We'll see when it arrives. Looks like it may have one needle in it, so I hope I can see if that one works. I have a few sizes of Boye needles, including some showing in the listing for Mason machines.

She's a good candidate for a MUTT treadle, wouldn't you say?

Beautiful machine. The decals look to be in excellent condition. Enjoy. Is the clamp in question physically attached to the large center piece or is it just the way it appears in the picture?

I can hardly wait to see your pictures when you get her and solve the mystery of contents of the attachments box. Lovely decals. When I see a lonely sewing machine head I often wonder what happened to to cabinet or the case. It is obvious due to the condition that she was well cared for at one time.
