Green Dressmaker CL find $10
I am now the proud owner of a Green Dressmaker that I know nothing about. I saw the add on CL and it was for a sewing cabinet and bench and it had a machine but the machine was broke. I was hoping the cabinet would fit the 15-90 clone I got last week on CL. So I called. For $10 I couldn't go wrong.
The lady said she had too much stuff and had to get rid of something so the broken sewing machine had to go. So I grabbed my poor friend and off we went to look for this double story purple house in the desert. I wasn't hard to find. It looked like a thrift store smack in the middle of nowhere. There were things lining the driveway and in the yard and the house looked like a second hand store with a small path to walk through.
She showed me the cabinet and I didn't even pull the machine out. I didn't know what I had until I got home. I dusted it off, pulled the machine up and sat and looked at it for a while. Should I try to get it running to stick to my original plan? What's a little oil and time.
So I tried to turn the wheel. It was stuck. I added oil. It moved a little. More oil. More movement.
HA! the machine is purring like a champ! I pick up the instruction manual the lady gave me. AHHHHHHHHHH it's for a Delux Zig Zag machine.
So now I have a Green Dressmaker and I don't know how to thread or what needle to use . . . but she is running... and a Delux Zig Zag manual and no machine. Oh, and still no cabinet for my 15-90 clone.
Here's a couple of pics of my Dressmaker. Looks like she sat in someone's shed in the desert for a long long time.

Your sewing machine is very similar to my Dressmaker Model 295. It threads the same. Spool pins are on the back. I can send you a copy of my Model 295 manual in trade for a copy of the Deluxe Zig Zag manual. Wanna trade?
