Here are a couple more machines that I couldn't pass up. The greenish gold one is a Montgomery Ward and it was advertised as running but needs parts. The gentleman said if he didn't sell it he was going to use rig up the motor to use for retrieving things. I have no idea what he meant but he sold it to me for $10. The color is gorgeous and one I had never seen before. After doing the usual maintenance we have it running great. A friend has the same model so I will borrow her manual. I found a set of cams on ebay so I am anxious to get them. The second one is a Dressmaker that came with a box of accessories but no manual. After cleaning and oiling it is running great. I still need to put some grease on the cam stack gear. I was wondering if any of you might know what the lever on the side of the machine is used for. It cannot go down and I can't get it to go up or move right or left.

Nice machines, love that wards one. Great buy. I would say the feed dogs too, for a guess.

Oh my goodness - that Montgomery Wards Machine is a blast from the past! I bought that very machine with the money I received for my high school graduation. I remember that I couldn't afford to buy it from the catalog but instead found it in the "discount" room. Worked great and loved it until I accidentally dropped it about 10 years later.......

It's probably set up so you loosen the screw, then move the lever to adjust something, and tighten it back down. It may have to do with keeping the belt tension correct. I think I've got the same machine, so I'll go see if it's got the same deal.

I think it may be to use when you wind the bobbin. I once had a machine with a lever that disengaged the sewing needle while you would a bobbin.
