Default Help 1949 white tension

While I was cleaning my 1949 White the tension spring and a looks to be a washer fell out. Does any one know how they are supposed to fit inside? Or know where I can find a diagram of that part?
I got a lot of the old oil and tobacco stains off. After Auntie is clean I will strip and re-stain the cabinet.

i would recommend visiting the web site and seeing if you can download a maintenance owners manual---i managed to get one free for my vintage singer- it sure helps to have the diagrams right in front of me-with all the screw locations ect-right next to me.
tension is such a (fickle) thing- it would be best to have the manual- or if you have a local repair shop that works on vintage machines they may be able to help-
good luck

Wow! You most likely need another machine just like it to look at or a service manual. Those tensions aren't like the Singer tensions are they. http://www.treadleon.net/sewingmachi...aceplaste.html maybe this will be of some help - maybe something else on that site will be of help.

Do you have a picture? I don't really remember any washers with my White tensions (older models though, so they might be different).

Editing to add that mine look like the link Miriam posted. Wished I had found that the first time I pulled apart one!
