Default Help!

I have been trying to get going on my new to me Juki tl98Q machine. I have tried everything to get the machine to work. Does not advance the fabric and the stich is miniscule. have tried tweaking the tension and changed the needle. No dealer or sewing center available, as I live in the boonies. Any and all help would be appreciated. Yes, feed dogs are up. Thanks, Rose

this is stupid question but are the feed dogs down??? check the stitch length, tension (like above answer) My guess is that the feed dogs are stuck down if not feeding fabric....check for thread underneath..I have this machine and it a work horse so gotta be something simple LOL

Unless there's a severe thread hang up stopping the machine from being able to advance the fabric, tension won't typically affect fabric advancement. That's the domain of the stitch length setting.

Check the stitch length setting, what is it set to?
Remove the fabric, set the stitch length to something big, lift the presser foot, turn the handwheel by hand and look at what the feed dogs are doing.
Do they look like they're moving enough to drag the fabric backward for a large stitch? Or are they basically just going up and down?
Are they high enough?
