How bad is it...
So, I have a featherweight and yesterday I was sewing on it and heard a squeaking that I identified as a belt issue, or so I thought. The belt seemed fine so I oiled the hand wheel and also the pulley on the other side. That didn't fix the squeak. So long story short, I screwed around with it enough that whatever the deal was with the squeak went away but then it occurred to me that the pulley is attached to the motor and it's never ok to oil the motor.. I DID NOT put oil in the motor grease cups, just on the pulley that holds the belt. How hosed am I? Is this going to damage the motor? Anyone have a guess?

Whenever I take apart a motor I put a tiny drop of oil at the end where the post comes out that the pulley attaches to. As long as you weren't squirting oil into the motor I doubt it will be a problem. It was just a little drop right?

Yes! That's what I was hoping. I didn't go crazy with the oil and I looked at a diagram/picture of the motor innards and it seemed like a far enough distance from the guts of the motor. Still, apparently I needed something more to worry about. Thanks so much!
