I have the manual and see the thumb screw which I have unscrewed as far as it will go but the feed dogs are not dropping. Is there something else I should be doing?

Maybe it needs cleaning. Could be some lint caught up in it. Does the manual have a trouble shooting page? That's all I've got.

Tri-Flow the feed dog drop parts. They get gummed up from old oil and lack of use. Might need heat to coerce them to cooperate.

Will do and will report back. Would I just push the feed dogs down or will they drop by themselves when things are loosened up?

Okay, that worked. Thanks. I had to figure out where to push, etc. Gave me the opportunity to oil the moving parts with the Tri-Flow. Now I have to practice with the FMQ. Quite the different feel than the electric machines.
