Your longbed black 301 is one of the most coveted machines for collectors. The finish on yours looks very good, too. You have a wonderful friend! I love my 301's--that's right, I have more than one. I learned to sew on my Mom's 301, and she bought me one to take to college. Then, I came across more of them at garage sales, etc, so now, I have five!!! You will love it.

I love my 301(s). Yes, I have more than one, also. You will love sewing on Cat. I just wonder..knowing how these machines are built..How in the world did the shaft get bent?

You are so right about those old machines. I have two 301's, black and mocha, and I love them both. Of course, I also have two-15-91, two-201, two-99K, Spartan, 66 Redeye Treadle, a 66 Redeye treadle that I converted into a hand crank and 3 older singers with shuttle type bobbins. I keep 3 of them set up at all times for doing different quilting functions. I am just in heaven while I am quilting.

Does your 15-91 do free motion quilting?

You will love sewing on her. I have a mocha coloured one and it's my absolute favourite machine. I really like the look of the black ones. Lucky you.
