Pretty little girl! Have you decided on a name for her? I have 1 black and 1 white. Right now my black one is "resting" as I can't get the bobbin case to seat properly.

No attchmnents but did get 3 bobbins and bobbin case. A few small paint chips at the base of the column. Decals are nice. One worn area around the base of the column. The case is in good condition.
Will the attachments from any other model machines fit the FW?
The person I got it from said it had been given to her and she did not sew.

I have a website that you can get most anything that you need as far as accessories for the Featherweights: www.thequiltgal.com . Congrads!

I think I'll call her Alyce after my late MIL. She had a FW when she passed away and no one knows what happened to it. I got it wiped down and oiled and it is so quiet.

Sew-Classic.com will have parts and some attachments. Ebay attachments are hit and miss. The prices are going up so the economy MUST be getting better. Some attachments from the 201s will work. Watch out for scalpers on Ebay charging too much for 221 attachments though. Jennie at Sew-Classic has a good way of listing her parts and showing what they will fit. Read her lists carefully and you will learn a lot about attachments. I hear you need to be careful about the walking feet as some don't work on 221s. There are many 221 fans on ths site and they should be anxious to help you with your selections.

Oh yes, be sure to get all the lint out of the bobbin area. Mine had felt in there from so much wool lint. We took it apart to get all the felt and fuzz out and that little finger on the bobbin moved and it wouldn't sew. That little appendage had to point straight up in order for it to sew correctly. We had to take both bobbin covers off to repostition it. It was a bit of a pain, but my SM man said this is a common reason FWs come to see him. I remembered him saying that and it saved a trip. Also, always be sure the flat side of the needle is on the left side. This is probably the leading cause of service calls. Anyway, contradulations on your new baby. May you have many years of good clean fun sewing with her.

l looked at the pictures again and it seems you got a very nice case with her. Fred, a SM man I met at Paducah, said to put half a bar of safeguard soap (in the box) in your case to keep mildew at bay. I spray painted the inside of mine black. That sealed up all the mildew, but most people wouldn't want to do that probably. I'm just alergic to it so much and couldn't stand the smell. I am going to get some Safeguard soap just in case. I had previously left it in the son for a couple of weeks and that hadn't even lessende the smell. Paint was its only salvation. I wonder what would be good to restick a place where the fabric is loose? Mine is a 1947 and it needs some TLC.
Congradulations on a wonderful machine.

I have a bunch of generic, short shank feet that I bought several years ago from Clothilde. One of them is a clear plastic 1/4in foot with red markings on it that I like to piece with. Tried on my FW and it works just fine. Haven't tried any of the others but they'd probably work. Forgot to remove the piecing foot when I took the machine in for a repair and the serviceman was aghast that I would put a plastic foot on a FW!

SHE IS SO BEAUTIFUL and I am so happy for you. If I lived next door, I'd buzz over and give her a big hug. GOOD FOR YOU and have fun playing with the new 'kid on the block'.

Hancock Fabrics sells attachments that fit the Featherweight. You need to pay attention to slant shank or straight shank. I bought a piecing foot for mine at Hancocks and it is wonderful. It seems that my model uses straight shaft. I used a 40% coupon and that saved me money. Our store here always carries these attachments.
