Default I have a hole in my collection!

I have lots of Singers
from the 1890's
1900's
1910's
1920's
1940's
1950's
1960's

But none from the 30's!!!!

So the hunt is on - I'm looking for a 1930's era 99 in a bentwood case with the knee control. This style using the regular three prong one sided plug. I'm not that concerned if the top or knee lever is missing, I mostly want a great looking machine and the base with the control still there (I have the other stuff).

And yesterday I decided I needed a gold machine to go with my "gold" Greist attachments. Free-Westinghouse has a nice one. DH said he'd paint up one of the 301's for me, but the attachments won't fit!

Wow! You’ve got the decades covered pretty good!

I have a June 17, 1936 Singer 99-13 fixer-upper if you’re ever down this way before you find one. It has the control in the base and the bentwood top. It’s missing part of the light, and of course, the knee lever.

I have two of the Free ALB Rotaries and two of the New Home NLB Rotaries (also gold) too, so I could fix you up on those in good shape.

Sorry, but I don’t ship machines. You’ll have to make a road trip. (I know, I know.....but shipping tends to not pan out most times, so I just don’t do it.)

I think I saw one or two 99s in bent wood cases on shopgoodwill. I can't say the age though.

*CD hit the enter button while I was still typing. Nice looking machines.

If you're branching out into colors, maybe you need a green Singer? http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hn...190068689.html

Ok, last one, seriously, it's not gold colored but it's a Gold Hibbard. http://rmn.craigslist.org/atq/4227652394.html

Sigh - Oklahoma just is not in my normal direction of travel.

Though I've heard they have an amazing gun show down there twice a year, maybe that would get DH's interest. I think it's April and October.

GrayQ - I've bookmarked a couple I will look at if they are still there next time I'm in town. Did you see this one though?

Though it appears to be more silver than gold, but maybe it's the lighting in the picture.

I'm also interested in this one - if it's still there next time I'm in the Cities.

We went into Sioux Falls and saw a great big "Going out of Business" sign for Mill End Textiles. They said they are closing all 9 stores! Darn, one of my favorite fabric outlets will be no more. Of course I broke my promise of "No more buying for stock". So I may have to cool it on sewing machines for a while!

I did see the one in Blue Earth but it's in rough shape and they won't budge on the price. I hope after not selling it for a while, they will reconsider. The one in New Brighten is in better shape, although hard to see the pics. What a shame about Mill End! You never know what treasure you'll find there.

I've got a 15-91, allotted date 12-29-36.

I wrote about it in this thread: { http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...r-t205360.html }.

I've also got a 66-18 from 1938 but that one I gotta keep. It's my felt bag sewing machine.
