I went to look at the sewing cabinet and decided I wanted it but it was bigger than I thought it was going to be,it was handmade by her husbands grandfather in 1961. The White was used by his grandmother and mom, its a 1935. It is set up right now as a treadle but they gave me the motor that was with it but they didn't no if the motor worked or not. I got there to see the cabinet and found out the machine was for sale also. I got both for $ 130.00

Beautiful. I have a cabinet like this...well, not quite. Mine is in very sad shape. Nice to know what it's SUPPOSED to look like!

They are both wonderful. Such a great price. I have a similar cabinet that my parents picked up for me at an antique auction up in Washington state somewhere. It was stained black which I don't care for but I was informed not to have it refinished, so I won't. My sides swing open instead of the top opening. If my grand father had made it there would be no way it would ever leave the family. So you are very fortunate to have them and the history that goes with them.
