Hi all,

Finally took the machine apart and cleaned it. There is an SK under the faceplate. On the machine is the following S 115 195.

Oiled, greased, replaced tire and belt. Cleaning the bobbin case of old lint which was all that was providing tension.

I had a slight knocking, which got worse with the cleaning and oiling. Finally tipped it up and realised one of the part was bumping on the table. Sounds great now.

What is the difference in vaseline and singer grease?

Thanks,

Sharon

PS I want the next shuttle, tried for 30 years to get MIL.

Oh boy!!!!! You need to take several photos of the machine and post it!!! From what I can tell from the bottom and the serial it was made by Koyo-Seiko. This is the first Japanese 99 I have seen and with it having an "SK" on the faceplate helps me with the manufacturer along with the serial.

I did add this thread to the Virtual section for Vintage Machines because this is a very important machine! Especially for my Japanese research I am conducting.

Thank you for posting the photos and I am looking forward to seeing more of the machine!!!

Ok here goes, thanks for the interest. I would like to have some idea of the date of the machine.

Cant help it!!!

But this particular machine is an important one for me because it will help a lot in my Japanese 15 research I am in the middle of.

I did not know that they (Koyo, Koyo-Seiko) also put out a 99 so that is a very important discovery!!!! This machine has sent me back to the books and my records of a certain company to see if they have any thing about a 99 production.
