Cool Grandma's Sewing machine for sale on Craig's List

***Please note - none of these are my machines, I don't have to make this stuff up... some of these ads will expire quickly/will get deleted from CL. If in doubt start at the bottom of the postings for the most current good stuff***

Some of the best deals on Craig's List are grandma's old sewing machine.
Some of the worst deals on Craig's List are grandma's old sewing machine.

Add a few on here if you wish... I couldn't find them all... Some times I wonder if it isn't just their marketing ploy. I have bought some good stuff that way though. Sometimes they think they know what they have, some just want to get rid of it, some are probably out and out liars. You decide.

Some of it will be WAY OLD/EXPIRED, but we also have a fun thing going for stuff that is way out there and here is a link to that one: http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...ml#post5969150

Anyway these are listed as having to do with Grandma's sewing machine... go on make your snarky remarks... add new grandma's sewing machines for sale to the list or just enjoy reading

I love the stories...
"Had a garage sale, and my grandma decided to part ways with this sewing machine desk. It is a White brand sewing machine model no. 764 serial no. 76167. This machine was introduced at the world fair in 1964 and it still runs and sews to this day. The knee pedal, and all the plugs still work. Wood is in good condition with all drawers and even the tray for the bobbins. Great condition. These go on eBay for $500 but my fiancé and I are moving so it has to go. Please call or text with any questions."

"There is a story to this piece. This has been in our family for over 100 years. When Grandpa's Mother passed away he was four, this was the only item he received to remember her by. To this day, my Grandmother still uses the sewing machine. The machine is a HOME RUN (that's the name of it.) Everything in there home looks new and this item is of no exception. Grandma is now 96 and wants to sell it. They had it appraised over 25 years ago for $10,000.00. The cabinet has never been refurbished and the coloring of the machine is still very vibrant. All original attachments included - even the oil can! I don't see a scratch on it! They don't make cabinets like this anymore! Many compartments for storage. All offers considered. The machine inside is called a Home Run. It goes with the cabinet. COD only please."

No wonder my CL adds don't sell. I don't put enough BS in them.

If the ads are still up - the BS probably didn't do any good yet.

Most of them I would pass on, but there are a couple of them that I would buy in a heartbeat. Thanks

I'm thinking that grandma's machine is not the best advertising route to take. Unfortunately, memories really aren't worth much to other people..... only to you. Some of these are nice machines......$10,000????? Really?????
