Check out the stitch regulator and how the motor is mounted on this machine.

Also note it says "rebuilt" on the column of the machine.

Anyone want to comment about the modifications on this machine???

I've seen pictures of that "forward / reverse" conversion unit on a 66. I'd love to get my hands on one to work with.

Since that machine does not have a motor mount boss the motor bracket was simply attached to the back of the pillar with screws. Simple.

Interesting machine.

It appears to be a Model 303 Lever Type Revco Reverse Attachment. They were installed by Independent Sewing Machine Shops in the 1940s & 1950s to update Singer Models 27, 66, 127, & 128 machines that had no reverse or backtack. There was also a push-pull version.

I have my grandmothwers 1905 model 27 Singer that had the stitch regulator/reverse put on it as well as being motorized and adding a light. It works like a charm. Interesting about the "rebuilt" on the machine. Good luck finding out more.

I think what most interested me was the "Rebuilt Singer Machine" decal - I've never seen that before.

I have a couple machines that must have been motorized. I should dig around for a pic. NAH it would be quicker to drive over there and take a new picture after I dig up the machines. LOL

During the WWII, no new sewing machines were being produced. So many shops "rebuilt" or refurbished older machines. They motorized them, sometimes installed the Revco reverse on them, applied new "Singer" decals...even sometimes on other brands. There are some Singer clones out there that have the Singer logo on them due to this, but construction and location of serial number shows they are a different brand.

I'll be checking that out. I just won a machine with that Reverser. My machine is a bit different from the OP's machines and I don't have it yet so I'll have to wait till I get it to comment on it.
