No surgical needles, sorry! But may can you use Awl needles? There are curves needles in the group so if you have a number or needle System I will check the list I have.

Sorry, no interest in the Awls...

The Florence was before "Systems" was a thing.

those look like modern industrial curved needles

I figure they are worth more to me as sources of good karma than as sale items. but yea, at 25-30 ea x 20+ needles would fund a machine or two....
What a marvelous way to think about it! That is an amazing machine - unlike anything I've ever laid eyes on.

Thanks, don't need any bait laying around and I'd probably trade it in on something Davis.

so, I fabricated a spool pin last night.

Note the location and that the same spool pin is used for the bobbin winder and the sewing machine. I have never seen an old machine where the thread is held so far away from the machine.

It threads up by going through the hole at the top of the tension and then TWICE around the tensioner (it actually says in the manual "twice, or more as needed to keep it from slipping"

Fascinating machine, glad you found a shuttle and bobbin. Since you have 1 to look at, helps if you ever needed to make one. How long are the needles before bending? What shank dia? Looks like reversing the bend could be do-able?
