Default Singer 66 Treadle for quilting ?

How do I SITD on my treadle without using a walking foot, which I am thinking there is none made for this machine, without little puckers where the seams cross each other. What settings do I need to make on the treadle machine?

Lauri,

Sew Classic sells a Low Shank straight stitch walking foot for the 66s and other Low Shankers.

I've got one on order it will be here this week.

When I did my machine cover for my Singer 66 T-2 I used the ZZ walking foot my wife had for the Bernina. It has an adapter to fit the Bernina but is basically just a Low Shank unit. It worked pretty good even if it wasn't specifically for a SS machine.

I have a walking foot for mine. In fact, I think that's the machine it came with. Any low shank walking foot will fit it and you will be surprised at the difference it makes in your quilting!

Does your 66 have back clamping feet or normal low-shank? If it's the former I don't know that there ever was a walking foot for it, if the latter Joe's advice works. You can change a back clamping presser bar for a low-shank one. I think the instructions are on Treadleon.
