Joannes & Sewing Machine Grease
DD sent DGD to Joannes yesterday to pick up some sewing machine grease for her 201. DGD could not find any so she asked the clerk available where she could find the grease. The clerk had no idea if they had sewing machine grease and had no idea what it was used for. The clerk also asked other clerks in the store about sewing machine grease and received the same answer. Go figure that one!!!!
I do have a question though. Where is Singer grease made? China?

Not all JoAnns carry the Singer lube any more. I picked up the last tubes the two old JoAnns had before they closed them last year. The new bigger store here doesn't carry it any more. I've found it on line at Sew-Classic so it's still out there.
Also be aware that one of the most recent tubes of the Singer Lube I have has white grease in rather than the original clearish to amber looking stuff. The others are normal. I don't know if it's real Singer lube, or if the maker is slipping in lithium grease, or if it was just a mistake and the wrong grease got in the tube.

Joe, sew-classic had a note about the color change in the grease on their sale page. I think they've hanged color but not formula. Not sure why though.
My Joanne's doesn't carry it either. My area is not a heavily concentrated area of vintage machines so that's probably why. It's a bummer, but I guess as long as I can find it online I will be fine.

I missed that notice. I'll toddle over there and read it. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Dont qoute me a 100% though. But I thought she had that on her site. I want to say I read it somewhere. As I wouldn't notice the difference having never used the product before.
