Default KAT's 201 motor problems

I finally found time to test the foot pedal. It has power. I then took the motor casing off and found an exposed wire (but the machine never tripped my house power) and the motor was really cruddy.

Joe, I sent you an email with a pic of the motor.

Should I attempt to fix this or look for another motor?
