"Mid-Century Modern" Pfaff cabinet. What do you think of it?

I'm with the wood finish - no paint of these old wood cabinets.
I didn't realize it was teak, either. Then again, I can't figure out any of the other wood finishes, LOL.
I like a lot of the European vintage cabinets, like the swing out drawer.
Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.

Don't know where I would find scrap pieces of veneer, but you are right about changing the screws. There is a picture of the mismatched screws on the original listing, washers and all. No wonder the lid won't close. Thank you for the good instructions for doing it correctly. I've done that with matchsticks on some door hinges, but didn't use glue...no wonder the repairs didn't last.
The reason I use the little rolls of veneer is because it pretty much allows the screws to center in the old holes but fills in the torn out wood. You can get veneer in small rolls at most box lumber / home improvement stores.
Or keep your eyes out for old furniture people toss, much of it will have peeling veneer you can salvage for other things.
