Default Missing Slide Plate Replacement

I have a late 70's Nelco Amica 3500 purchased for $6.50 at Goodwill. Interesting critter, made in Italy. To make a third of its stitches, the feed-dog assembly moves in addition to the needlebar.
It was missing a slide plate. DH to the rescue!! He took a brass doorhandle coverplate, cut out a piece to size, and rounded the front edge. It fits perfectly. I am blessed!

I was ready to let this machine be a parts hulk. Now, it hums along and seems to realize how precious his actions are. I'll be keeping this Amica intact.

Wow, I would have never thought of fashioning my own. It's a beautiful fit and a perfect solution to your missing plate. I am so impressed!

Yes, he is awesome. If I need a slide plate I will remember he can fabricate one.
