Default On a mission!

DH is getting the truck out, and we area headed to western MN to pick up a very special sewing machine! It's three hours away. It's sunny and cold, and the wind has died down.

Got a load of foam and padding and some tools and penetrating oil so we can make sure to get the machine loaded and home safely - step 1 on it's journey.

We have it loaded and we are on our way. Amazing machine and I'm happy to be part of the rescue. Lady said it had not sold she was thinking of putting it in the yard as a planter.

Nice teaser. It must be something pretty special to justify the drive. Have a safe trip.

Oh dear God no.......

The machine is for me. It is an Emile James Politype. It is on of the earliest Universal feed arm machines ever made. We are still researching. Looking for patent dates, etc. It was "advertised" as a Civil war era leather sewing machine. because it had an 1860 patent on it...

I suspect the date may be more like 1865-1870 based on research of when he was bringing them in through NY. (German based engineering)

The Singer 29 is a descendant of this.
