66 or 99. Not good with judging sizes.

According to Singer site, it is a 99. Dated Aril 23, 1930.

Was going to guess a 99. Although massively heavy, they're much lighter than a 66. Never seen a 66 in a portable case.

Miriam, was that case made from a treadle cabinet cover? My VS2 was in a coffin case too but it was obviously originally a treadle. The base of the "carry case" was the treadle top and has the belt holes. Even in the days when women were real women (etc) I can't imagine there'd be many people who would seriously expect anyone to carry such a thing.

Nope. mine is a 'portable' - hernia maker... I dug around in my pics but couldn't find one of it. It is long - looks funny after looking at the little 99s cases.

Amazing they even made such a thing! Must be rare, for the obvious reasons. I have a 99(k) and it's really cute. Not what I'd use, what with a couple of its bigger sisters (the 66) standing by, but for $5 I would not be able to resist buying a second one. A secondhand foot controller and power cord alone are worth twice that.
