Default Mother's Day Featherweight

My two sons got together and sent me a 1946 Featherweight with manual and CD from McCallum. She was very dirty and smelly but wasn't used much. The last person to work on her didn't put the bobbin race back in right. They have my sympathy, even with the manual it took me awhile to figure it out.

I pried out the hardened grease, oiled, greased, and cleaned everything. Then just a short spurt on the motor. She just purrs along. When the Singer motor lubricant gets here I plan to start piecing. I just wonder how they knew I wanted one so much.

I've always said no one knows their children like their mother; perhaps in your case it works the other way? Congrat's on the great gift!

Awww...that's wonderful and very similar to my Mother's Day. My son brought me a 1952 FW this weekend as well. I've cleaned her and oiled her but, like you, I'm waiting for the motor lubricant to arrive before I try her out. This is going to be FUN!
