I have a No.8 also. Purchased her a few weeks back. Her wiring is really bad so she has been placed in the repair line. See my pics here:

Husqvarna bought White. You can call them and give the serial # and they will tell you how old it is.

Hi, I just purchased an old White sewing machine like the one you described above. I purchased it in a cabinet which I found very fascinating (much to do with my interest in the machine). It does not have power cord or foot pedal included or manual. I'm very interested to know if you have managed to find more definite date of manufacture of the machine and if you are able to use it satisfactorily. Also, I want to note that I read an article on White sewing machines and it does state that White bought out Domestic Sewing machines at some point.

I was thinking it was like a 128. Pleased that Caroline S. beat me to it. 1950's makes sense but much older tech.
