My Morse sewing machine
Have you heard of Morse sewing machines. I have this machine since 1970 and it sewed beautifully until today. Lol...no the fork did not stab it, the fork is on my fireplace front) For some reason when I was cleaning and oiling it, the feeder dogs stopped feeding my material when I tried to sew. I can't figure out why so (sigh) guess I'll have to send it to the repair shop. Sad me.

This is probably an obvious question, but I'm always doing something like this: Is the machine set to darning instead of regular sewing? The feed dogs would still move but wouldn't be raised.
I love the color, it's a beautiful machine.

Fixed my Morse sewing machine!
I looked repeatedly at the undercarriage workings and how it worked and discovered one of the rod joint connections were frozen and would not move the feed dogs back and forth. Once I "gently" forcibly moved it..the feed dogs started working properly. Right away with the machine oil to that point. Yippee! No repair bill! I am so proud of myself..lol.

Another thing to check when the machine won't feed correctly is the pressure button (above the presser bar). I had a time once figuring out why my machine was acting crazy until I realized that I had released the pressure. Once I pushed it back down a bit it worked like a charm.
