Default Is this a fw table?

Can anyone here tell me if this is actually a featherweight table....

http://cnj.craigslist.org/clt/4009975377.html

Obviously the price is right but the cut out looks a bit wrong from others I've seen online. Anyone know for sure?

Thanks for any help,
Kim

No. Sorry. It is a table for a 401, 403, or a 404. A 500 and a 503 may fit in it. You can also use a short bed 301 in it. The cut out isn't wide enough front to back to fit a featherweight. Another way to tell is the painted edge of the table, most FW tables I have seen have a black painted edge.

A quick way to tell - FW tables have the cutout that goes all the way to the side frame. Long bed 301 have a rectangular cutout that does not go all the way to the frame. Short bed and 401 and the like has this one, rectangular with a small extra part cut out on the side near the edge (but not cut all the way to the edge).

I'd grab that table in a heartbeat if I was close enough.

VERY GOOD price. Well worth buying the card table and getting the sewing machine to fit it. Enabling is my forte!

From your lips to God's ears! Of course, someone else already has dibs on it. BUT apparently I'm next in line if that pickup falls through.

Thanks everyone for the info. I knew something didn't look right!

Sorry, NJ Quilter, but I once learned the sad way that Quilters are a reliable sort - which is GREAT NEWS if you are relying on one for just about anyting. But, bad news if you are second in line behind them on a Cool Deal. Sadly, they always show up to buy the prize and it never gets to Taker #2.

Sigh. ;-)

And I thought by emailing the guy at 5:30AM would put me at the head of the list! Geez!

I stumbled across my FW table by accident. Was looking at a filthy & overpriced 66 in an antique shed/shop when the guy says he has a table if I'm interested. I am and he shows it to me. $40 is what he's asking and I can't give him the $$ fast enough - gave him an extra $5 to help cover taxes. It looks good and now I want a 301 table.

I had to drive across town (about 20 miles) to get my table. I took my daughter with me and we met the lady in a parking lot of a small shopping center. She arrived in a truck and pulled it out - all packed up for moving and storage - wrapped in bubble wrap! She pulled it out for me to look at - I couldn't give her the $100 she was asking for fast enough - it doesn't even look like it was ever used. I have used it once, can't wait to have a place where I can set it up for everyday use. I am getting used to using my Featherweight when I go to our LQS to sew once a week and look forward to using it more at home.

I keep looking and hoping. I'll stumble across one sooner or later. The person who had the table for sale did email me back saying it had been picked up but he'd let me know if he comes across another. Somehow methinks he has a secret source somewhere. I can only hope & pray.
