ISMACS.net is the site - LOTS of great info for older sewing machines on that site, it's a lot of fun to browse around in. I've learned a lot just by reading that site.

I have a dumb question. Is the piece that is not supposed to be bent in the same shape as the bent attachment (mock hemstitcher)?

Not really - the bent up piece, the bent part goes DOWN, like it would go through the bed of the machine if I actually attempted to attach it. I have no clue what someone was doing or thinking to bend it that way - I can't see any way it could actually be used the way it is now! Have to wonder if someone's kid got ahold of it or something...
