Default My new/old Simpson`s sewing machine

I found this baby in a garage sale....what I love is that`s it`s Canadian...although it says made in the USA on the motor..lol I looked all over the internet to find info on it but just couldn`t find any. All I know is that it works like a charm....beautiful straight stitch and it purrs like a kitten...lol It has really been well taken care of....I have the cover for it but nothing else. The guy that sold it to me said it didn`t have the right needle, but it sews perfect...will have to find more. Anyways I love this machine. It is quite heavy though so I won`t be carrying it all over ...will find a permanent place for it....I call it Simpson...ha ha ha I got it for 20.00$

Nice looking machine. As you have found out, most of the 15 clones are very good machines. I just noticed that yours actually has a "15A" badge on it. Many that I've seen don't have that designation on them. While you may not have been been able to find information on machines with that particular name -- there are a lot of "badged" 15 clones. You might check out http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...p-t164361.html

I'm thinking that the guy may have meant that it wasn't the right needle for sewing whatever had been trying to sew with it. AFAIK they all take the standard sewing machine needles.

Have fun with Simpson.

Janey, Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do.

I made a thread about getting rid of white tape. You do not want to pull it off. Use the naphtha and it won't pull off paint, etc. it may dull the finish. http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...e-t278748.html

It's a beauty. I agree about how heavy they are, way too heavy to lift and carry around, but very pretty. Thanks for showing her to us, never heard of that brand. Probably a Japanese clone for a department store.

huntannette, that's a beautiful machine. Obviously well taken care of. That Simpsons insignia makes me wonder if it has anything to do with the old "Simpsons Sears" stores, years ago. Looks very similar to the way they used to do their name. Nice to see you on here again. Haven't seen you in a long time. Hope all is well.
