This board has taught me so much more than I ever expected. I have developed a deep appreciation for things past and unexpectedly led me in search of a treadle machine. My grandmother had one and my sister and I were not allowed to go near it. So now that my 6 yr. old GD wants to learn to sew, I thought this would be a wonderful way to come full circle.. I saw it on CL and it was instant chemistry. Drove 240 miles to bring her home. She's been in the house but unused for 25 yrs. I don't have the confidence to completely dismantle her as I saw in Billy's tute yet, but perhaps I can work up to it. LOL Anyway, all advice is graciously accepted. Thanks for all that's been shared.
Annie

The cover on it is called a coffin top. Very pretty.

I wondered what that was called. I don't think I had ever seen one like that before. Usually just rectangular. Beautiful.
