Default Hard to resist free 401A

I was getting ready to go out of town for a night. But it can't hurt to check marketplace one more time, right?

OK a crappy picture of a slantnose that has only been up for 30 minutes..Selling is slowish to respond and I wonder if I may have to leave before I hear back. Ahh, there he is. We talk (slowly) and I am watching the clock. It turns out he is less than a mile from me. 401A . I don't want the poor cabinet, so we we pull it out. Takes longer to get the knee controller off. and (hmm another controller comes with it ) and a manual Also there is an accessory box with feet, plate and 4 cams. All for free. I just started playing with it and it is draggey with the motor engaged.Ahh I will have the joy of tinkering with it..

You can't beat free, and it looks very clean from where I'm sitting.

Around here that would be $350....

Goodness, original accessory box and all! What a lucky find!

Cleaning up these machines and getting them running again is so much fun - congratulations and enjoy it.

Free is awesome. It seems like there are lots of cabinets with bad machines. Happy tinkering!

The market here for old Singers is relatively low, but this one would probably still bring $75 -$100. Nice find! I look forward to hearing about the cleanup.

Leon, I could just cry when I see that one. I had my Mom's in perfect condition along with the cabinet and that was before I knew anything about old Singers. I got rid of it.
But........... happy you got it. I shouldn't have looked at this thread haha
