Default My Revitalized Lotus

Some time back I posted that I had finally gotten a Singer with the Lotus Decal. It was given to me by my OSMG. With the help of Cathy and Joe from QB I was able to obtain some usable parts and now have the machine all cleaned up. I haven't tried to sew on it because I need a case to put it in. A friend is going to build me a case but in the meantime I thought you all might like to see what it looks like now. There are before pictures and after pictures.

It's beautiful! Please tell me why it needs a case to sew? Do the gears rest on the table? Thanks.

That is beautiful. You did a fantastic job on that lotus -- looks like a completely different machine. I especially like the plate covering the back access panel. What kind of motor is that (amps, brand -- Ward?)?

Thanks for posting! Awesome job.

That machine sure did clean up nicely! I love the way the faceplate pattern matches the decals.

Blackberry,

That is a really nice motor there , seems I've seen it before somewhere .
The machine is really nice too. I've had a bunch of 66s but so far never one with lotus decals.

The machine base it's in can probably be repaired. I've done several of them.

KenmoreRulesAll,

If my memory serves me it was a Montgomery Wards 1.0 Amp motor. One of a batch of derelicts I got from another QB member that got cleaned, oiled and put back in service.

Joe

Joe is right about the motor. He helped me get it with a trade for one that I had. BTW Joe, did that motor work OK for you?
