My 222 1959 is named Fiona
My 222 1955 is named Fenella
My 221 1948 is named Maeve

All Scottish names for Scottish machines.

I haven't named the 301 yet.
The White VS II is named Jenny Lind. The Singer 115 hasn't told me her name yet but it will come to me when I start to sew with her. Such Fun!!
I haven't I named the new 401 yet either...I'll have to get name badges around here soon.

Wow, If I had that many machines, I woualdn't have room for my mountains of fabric. I do name my machines, but thedn I name my cars and other appliances too.
My old 1974 Bernina 830 Record is Bernie (not very original)
My Bernina Artista 180 is Nina (also not so original)
My Bernina serger is Phyllis (I don't know why)
My Singer Red-eye treadle is Frieda (after my mother-in-law)
and my newest one, a Juki 98Q is Trixie (just cause I love the speed and the thread cutting trick)
My seam rippers have always been Jack
My Dodge Caravan is Sylvia (she's silver)
and on a good day I can name them all and my DH, kids and Grand-darlings

I don't name my newer computerized machines either. A few years ago I named my 500A Nancy (after the aunt who taught me to sew) and was admonished on another group for naming it a girls name - they claimed that 500 and 503 were masculine. Who knew!? So, I guess I don't know how to tell a boy machine from a girl machine!

I haven't named my Rocketeer yet. It looks masculine, but I feel like giving a feminine name. I've thought about Rochester because I listen to old Jack Benny radio shows when I sew. That way if I need a button sewn on, I can say, "Oh, Rochester!"

Someone previously said that she named her machine after her grandmother. Since my grandmother taught me to sew, I may do that.
