Default Borgs Special

Another oddball. I am thinking that the decal design looks somewhat like Virginia Creeper. Any other suggestions? I am guessing that the machine was made by National. Any ideas as to what Borgs was??

Caroline,

"WE ARE THE BORG. YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE."

Sorry I just had to do that

That is an interesting machine. Love those decals. I hope you can get it cleaned up and save them. I have no idea who made it.

Joe

Wonderful decals, but I've never seen a National without the round access plate on the front. You do have a knack for finding machines!

Does it look like Borg's Special was added after the production of the machine? Maybe someone personalized it?

The decals, bobbin cover plate and the attachment style for the feet look exactly like the Cleveland machine made by Standard Sewing Machine Company I requested info on (see above link). The decals are the most beautiful of any of the machines I own.

Beautiful decals, I also think the decals are like Virginia Creeper. They usually turn a reddish color in the fall in this area.

Lovely designs. I agree- it looks like the Borgs name was added over the original decals. Recycled by a store with overstock?
