According to the history I was able to pull off the internet, the Eldredge was the predecessor to National, then New Home and now Janome. If you log on to ISMACS.com (I think that's the correct website), you can research this for yourself, if you wish, or print out the history.
I have a National Two Spools Treadle Machine which belonged to my husband's great-grandmother. It's a beauty! We are slowly but surely getting it cleaned up and lubricated and the cabinet refinished so that it can be used again. The last patent on this machine was issued in September 1913, so this grand old lady is almost 100 years old!
