Default New black sewing machine possible Singer?

I got this machine and now can't find out what it is. Has very good decals on it and even a number like Singer, but not name on it. The motor is a Belgelcor, but that doesn't tell me much. Any ideas?

Wow, if I was guessing I would say singer, but I am NO expert. It is a lovely machine.

there is no letter prefix of just 'A' for Singer. That looks like a gorgeous Singer 15 clone to me....

grannysewer,

The Belgelcor Universal motors are or were made in Belgium. They are very good torquey motors. But FYI, the brush caps were made from some sort of plastic that is now very fragile. Be super gentle with them if you remove them.

Your machine is a Japanese made HA-1 clone. Not a Singer. Your picture is so dark I can't make out any details so that's all I can say.
Look underneath for manufacturers marks. My HOTHER ( my avatar pic ) was made by JUKI and is one of the best sewing machines we own.
I'm going to have my wife bury it with me so I can sew robes in the afterlife.

I agree with Joe. This is a Japanese HA-1 class 15 clone. The face plate is not a Singer pattern. Nor is the bed decals even though they are a close copy. Most likely a great machine. I love the 15 clones.

Thanks everyone. I went back and turned it inside out so to speak and didn't find Singer on anything in the machine. It is very clean inside and after some electrical work, think it will sew super. The cords were fried and need replacing. Since I only paid $10 for it I can find a new home soon, I hope. Thanks again, Bobbie

Looks like a great machine! If you remove the motor it may say Made in Japan on the pillar. If it says Made in Japan it is a clone and may use Singer parts and sew as good as a Singer. Enjoy this fine machine and good deal.

Also ... the serial number plate looks rather suspect. It looks as though it was welded on after the fact.

Looks like my 15-91 Clone of a Singer.
