New Home/Janome Model 170
I just got this one yesterday ... it was love at first sight. Works like a dream, I have a question about cosmetics.
Some of the paint (I assume these machines are enamel paint, not "Japan") has "yellowed". Most of the yellowing seems to be around places where lubricant was used, and also at the base of the pillar (run off?). I've rubbed and rubbed (with sewing machine oil and old cotton t-shirt) but cannot get the yellowing out of any of the places.
Any hints for removing the yellowing ... or is it just age thing I need to accept it?
You can see the yellowing along the front edge seam right under the oiling wick, and in the bobbin area, and along the "crease" where the pillar meets the bed.

Oh MY! Love at first sight is an understatement. I would have been all over that one too. I've got a blonde cabinet that machine would be right at home in. 
I "think" that's paint. For other non black machines I've tried Simple Green sprayed on the rag or paper towel not the machine, denatured alcohol, and Hoppe's #9. Sometimes it's come off, sometimes not. You might try an automotive polish to clean it too. I haven't yet, but I do use the Kit non abrasive car wax to make 'em shine though.
Love that push button reverse, that would make for east tacking on piecing.

Try Goo B Gone. A little at a time with a Q-Tip. Or also an eraser mate (the one with Mr.Clean on the front). Also something that has an astringent.. Like Sea Breeze from the cosmetics section. You may be able to purchase it from Sally's Beauty supply. Also a little ammonia or vinegar.

It's the one behind the white one with the machine on it. I asked my wife about selling it and she said ...... no.
But it sure would be a nice match for that machine.
