Default New Home Memory Craft 6000 question

I bought a New Home Memory Craft 6000 today. I have taken apart as much as I can find and it's working pretty well.

I neglected to take a picture but it's the same as this one: http://sewingmachinenut.blogspot.com...raft-6000.html

I can't figure out where on the machine the second picture is taken. Looks like there is a gear there that probably needs lube. Suggestions?

I think the second picture in the link you provided is the bottom of the machine. Looks like the bottom plate was taken off. I could easily be wrong, though, it could be one of the sides! LOL.

Have fun with your new toy.

Going by a picture of that machine from an eBay listing, I am going to say that it is the underneath of the free arm.

Here is the listing, and the last picture showing the back of the machine is the only place where a piece with a curved end is.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Home-Sewing-Machine-Model-Memory-Craft-6000-SMW-49-/181190391870?nma=true&si=3I3%252Fe5rXhcFBLkQja1dSL yLxPMU%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675. l2557

There would probably be a lot of lint in that area as well, as is seen in the photo in the link you provided.

I have this machine and yes, it's under the free arm. Be warned though, that removing it usually tends to get it a bit warped(if it's not already that way from servicing). Any of the 6000's I've seen have a warped area under the free arm. But, since mine has the slide on tray in front, you don't see it. I think it's more important to keep it serviced than to worry about a bit or warped plastic.

I think I would be in way over my head with that machine. I have a good grasp of mechanics and basic electricity but the electronics in that one are way beyond my comfort zone.

Yup, it came that way with the warped plastic. I finally figured out where the right screws were. There are a lot of them.

Everything is solid on this one Rodney. There was a bit of a problem, which turned out to be the standard orange/rust colored thread where it shouldn't be and some dry grease.

I think this is a catch and release for me.
