You're a far better person than I! I would have been a screaming, raving lunatic! I'd probably stress and stew about it for a very long time. Holy cow! is about the most polite thing I can say in mixed company.

Reminds me of when DIL, newly married, had a yard sale and she asked me to add to it, so, donated an antique bowl, she sold it for 50 cents. Many years later , we laugh about it a lot. It is just stuff. People are so much more valuable than material things.
