New Machine I hope
This Elgin in the cabinet belonged to my Great Aunt Marie. I told her son, that IT WAS MINE.. and if all goes well, my brother will be bringing to me in maybe Jan. It needs new cords etc as they are all 'crumbling' apart like ash. I sewed on this machine as a little girl, sitting on Auntie Marie's lap. I can hardly control myself. It better arrive or I'll throw a conniption fit.. lol Well, he SAID I COULD have it...

That machine is wonderful! My machines are sort of a legacy for me - I set aside funds when my Dad passed and that is what has fueled my collection.
Do you have an attachment set for it? I know I've got an extra set that should fit this machine.

It's like either "Free" or "New Home" or something like that.
You can tell by the needle plate.

of couse, I'm not sure which company took over which - I think White got them at some point . . . and then they started looking like White machines.
I have some Greist attachments that have rather unique shirr plate and under braider - and it turns out they fit into the two holes on the needle plate - and they fit nothing else. The needle is also slightly offset from the centerline of the pressure foot bar.
I don't have a machine like this, so I'm not 100% sure they would fit- but I'd send them just to find out!
